After about 4-5 years, Akshay came to Dhaka, Bangladesh where he worked for some time. After this, he also worked in Kolkata for some time. In an interview given to ANI, Akshay had told that he lived with 24 people in a room in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. In those days, his goal was to earn money by working, for this he had to work hard. After this someone told that there is a lot of money in selling Kundan jewelery around Chandni Chowk to Mohammad Ali Road in Mumbai. Akshay had told in Anupam Kher’s show that he had no goal, he just had to survive. Therefore, he did whatever work came to his hands. Akshay’s first portfolio was made after working for 18 months with the film industry’s popular photographer Jayesh Seth. In the year 1988, Akshay got a small role in the film Aaj. After this, in the year 1991, Raj N Sippy gave Akshay his first opportunity in the film Saugandh. In the same year, Akshay’s second film Dancer also came but both could not perform well. During that period, 11 of Akshay’s back to back films flopped in 2 to 3 years and Akshay felt that nothing could happen for him here.
